MADE IN BIRMINGHAM’S TAFFY MUSHIPE NOMINATED FOR PRESTIGIOUS ROYAL TELEVISION SOCIETY AWARD

Tafadzwa Mushipe (Taffy), Presenter of Made in Birmingham’s prime-time entertainment show, ‘The Lowdown Birmingham’ has been nominated for the On Screen Personality 2017 Award from Royal Television Society Midlands.

The winners will be announced at the RTS Midlands Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, which takes place on 30 November at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

Taffy says of her nomination, ‘I am completely thrilled to have been nominated for this Award which is testament to the talent, diligence and tenacity of the entire Made in Birmingham team. To be nominated alongside such talented and recognised media personalities is truly an honour’

Taffy has received several other prestigious Awards for her presenting style and as recognition for her support of diversity and equality in the region.  At the end of last year, Taffy received a trio of Awards comprising ‘Media Presenter, 2016’ from the Women and Families Resource Centre; ‘Woman Media Personality Recognition Award’, given by Womanhood Global Magazine and ‘Media and Broadcasting Presenter of the Year’ awarded by Zimbabwe Music and Arts Award UK.

A vociferous supporter of diversity and equality, 34 years old Taffy started out in radio at the age of 16 and became a presenter at the age of 17 for a fashion programme in Zimbabwe, where she was born.  Taffy has lived in Wolverhampton for three years and has two children.
